MY JOURNEY
I am a dynamic public relations professional deeply committed to health and wellness with a passion for storytelling, strategic communications, and the art of connection. My Venezuelan-Colombian heritage and upbringing in New Jersey have made me a uniquely curious and thoughtful creator who finds joy in exploring philosophy, art, culture and nature. I am a free spirit, and I express myself through a variety of mediums, from communications and teaching to photography and fashion.
I hold a master’s in Communication and Media, specializing in Public Relations, and a bachelor’s in English Literature with minors in Russian Literature and creative writing from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. As an alumna of Douglass Residential College, formerly The New Jersey College for Women, I learned early to examine inequality, center women’s lived experiences, and embrace leadership. Douglass connected me to transformative opportunities like collaborating with Indigenous women weavers from the Huilloc village in the Andes mountains of Peru through the Global Village program and mentoring first-year students in courses and programs that explored women’s leadership and gender studies.
Professionally, I bring a strong background in healthcare communications, blending strategic campaigns with a holistic approach to health that combines Eastern and Western practices. I am deeply committed to advancing DEAI initiatives within my company and for my clients, ensuring inclusive storytelling and meaningful engagement that connects with diverse audiences. At GCI Health, I led high-profile oncology accounts, including campaigns in breast and blood cancers, focusing on educating and creating awareness for rare diseases. My work included raising awareness about breast cancer for women of color and delivering impactful, data-driven strategies.
I currently work as an Account Executive at Zeno Group’s Health & Wellness Practice, where I manage communications for a global leader in eye care. I shape campaigns that amplify patient stories, elevate brand narratives, and foster collaboration to drive meaningful global impact.
Beyond healthcare PR, I served as a bilingual museum educator at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers-NB, where I led initiatives connecting the museum to New Brunswick’s Latine community through programming, tours, and education. At the Institute for Research on Women, part of Rutgers-NB, I led communications efforts, establishing their multi-platform social media presence and creating digital media campaigns to amplify their programs and community impact. I deepened my connection to the vibrant Rutgers and New Brunswick communities through both roles.
My yoga journey began in 2018 with a Yoga with Adrienne video, and it quickly became a transformative practice of self-discovery and joy. In 2023, I earned my yoga certification through Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa, India. Today, I teach classes for all levels incorporating breathwork, meditation, reiki and yin practices. I share this ancient healing practice with my community by leading a weekly class at my local YMCA and partnering with local schools to offer kids’ yoga and Mommy & Me sessions.
Through photography, I capture ethereal stories where my subjects shine authentically. Whether it’s portraits, elopements, or children’s photography, I approach each project with care and a journalistic eye to turn moments into lasting memories. My professional training in newborn and children’s photography continues to inform the intention and sensitivity I bring to every shoot.
Across all my work—whether in communications, yoga, or photography—I am guided by a purpose to heal, connect, and uplift those around me.
“I worked with several photographers and Andrea was the first one to make me feel 100% comfortable! I was amazed when she sent me the photos from our shoot. She’s extremely talented and made me feel beautiful. I can’t wait to work with her again.”
